In these troubled times of high gas prices, declining car sales and our poor economy, people are in the market for something with the best MPG rating they can afford (those who are actually buying a new car and not continually repairing their old beaters). Hyundai is taking charge with their “fuel sipping variant” of their future 2010 Accent and Accent GS.

Hyundai announced their intentions to launch an “extra-fuel-efficient ‘blue’ models” of the new Hyundai Elantra and Accent. These new fuel efficient models will include mechanical enhancements to help extract a few extra miles per gallon of gasoline. How is this done? Implementing a five-speed transmission instead of the typical four. Low rolling resistant tires will also be added to the package, and electric power steering. No word on how these changes will effect final pricing.
