Under the hood is an all-new 1.6-liter GDi turbocharged engine, which produces 175 horse power. It’s connected to a six-speed automatic transmission that was developed by Hyundai engineers. A large hatchback such as this reminds many in the crowd of Pontiac’s Vibe or Toyota’s Matrix. We’ll see how consumers react if and what the ix-ONIC goes on sale in 2010.
